What is Arcoxia?
Arcoxia contains the active substance etoricoxib. Arcoxia belongs to a group of medicines called COX-2 inhibitors. They are part of a family of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

What is Arcoxia used for?
Arcoxia helps reduce pain and swelling (inflammation) in the joints and muscles of people aged 16 years and over with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and gout.
Arcoxia is also used for the short-term treatment of moderate pain after dental surgery in people aged 16 years and over.

What is osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis is a disease of the joints. It results from the gradual breakdown of cartilage that cushions the ends of bones. This causes swelling (inflammation), pain, tenderness, stiffness, and loss of movement.

What is rheumatoid arthritis?
Rheumatoid arthritis is a long-lasting inflammatory disease of the joints. It causes pain, stiffness, swelling, and progressive loss of movement in the affected joints. It may also cause inflammation in other parts of the body.

What is gout?
Gout is a disease with sudden and recurring attacks of very painful inflammation and redness of the joints. It is caused by the deposition of mineral crystals in the joints.

What is ankylosing spondylitis?
Ankylosing spondylitis is an inflammatory disease of the spinal vertebrae and large joints.

The Arcoxia 120 mg tablet is light green, film-coated, biconvex, marked with “ARCOXIA 120” on one side and “204” on the other.

Packaging: Aluminium blisters in a cardboard box.

Pack sizes: 7, 14 tablets.
